Dances, Solo Ensemble, Skiing and More!

Superbowl Party!  Still so sad the Lions didn't make it.
Carson and his buddies decided last minute to go to the Winterfest Dance .  I'm so so so happy they wanted to do this, again!

Carson and Graham signed up to compete in Solo and Ensemble again as a duo.  Carson ALSO signed up to perform a solo with a piano accompanist.  You get one shot at playing in front of a judge.  It's very "pins and needles" honestly.  The player gets judged and rated on a scale from 1-4.  4 is the highest ranking and gets you a blue medal.  3 is the second highest and gets you a red medal.  These boys both walked away with 2 blue medals each!  4 rankings are NOT easy to come by.  I'm so impressed with them both, and I'm glad Carson decided to give the solo a try this year.  Aren't they the cutest?

Daddy-Daughter Dance 2024 was a success!  Laney was so sick last year and didn't get to go, so she was highly anticipating this years dance!  They went out for a steak dinner before hand and danced the night away!  Carson and I had a steak dinner out with Grandma and Grandpa along with a fun trip to Costco.  Fun for everyone!

Ski weekend 2024!  We went to Crystal Mountain this year and we totally LUCKED OUT because Mother Nature dumped about 10 inches of fresh snow on an almost bare hill the day we went.  It snowed on and off the two nights we were there and made for some GREAT skiing.  Considering it was 70 degrees in February, it will most likely be our one and only ski trip.  It was so fun!

Evie started out on the Bunny Hill and by the time we left, she was skiing Blues and is WAY past my comfort level.  She even followed Carson up onto a path through the woods on jumps...FEARLESS!  Well, I'll stick to going down those greens and meet you at the bottom of the hill Evie.  That sure didn't take long for her to be better than me.  And Laney continues to ski down WHATEVER she pleases, blacks included, like it's nothing.  And Carson seriously looks like a professional snow boarder at this point.  I'm falling behind!

We met up with some of our good friends who were at Crystal at the same time.  Laney was happy to get to go off with her friend Ellie!
Kids are at their ski lesson...time to sneak a mountainside drink in!

We missed Auntie and Uncle Adam this year, but were so glad Grandma and Grandpa made the trip with us.  They came to the bottom of the hill to watch the kids coming down, we played lots of cards, played some pool, and Grandma made sure we were well fed!  There wasn't quite enough snow or time for snow shoeing or ice skating but hey, there's always next year!
Naughty puppy getting right up on our new couches!

New hair curler wand...this girl and all her fashion trends.
