I didn't do a great job taking pictures over Christmas but I got a few. We had a fantastic trip up to snowy Michigan to spend Christmas with both our families. This was Carson's 2nd time seeing snow but I'm sure he doesn't remember the first time...so he was in heaven! Almost every day he got to sled or make a snow angel. I think he underestimated how cold the snow would be... a couple times he took his gloves off and came in the house screaming :-) Doesn't look so cold on the cartoons he watches. Laney stayed indoors and practiced her scooting, sliding, rolling...just in time to start crawling as soon as we got back home! January 2nd to be exact, at 8 1/2 months old, she is moving and grooving! Baby gates are back to staying closed and we are quickly trying to hide all of Carson's small toys. She's crawling a month earlier than Carson did...her motivation...keeping up with Carson! She wants anything he has in his hands and if he has nothing then she'll settle for a chunk of his hair. Along with this milestone of crawling came pulling up on her knees, having to lower her crib frantically in the middle of the night, and a new faze of sleeplessness. We thought we were out of this faze for good but oh no Laney decided to bring it back! She wakes up several times a night and just gets up! When we walk in she is up on her knees shaking the bars of her crib like she's in prison. So sleep training begins again :-) Carson was happy to get back to school to see his teachers and friends. He has memorized a couple of books that he is reading to us like "Brown Bear Brown Bear" and "There's a Wocket in my Pocket", he draws and identifies circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles, and he sings his alphabet...but our favorite thing he has learned is how to pray. He sings one of two prayers he knows at dinner most nights. It is the best part of my day and I'll catch it on camera one of these days :-)
