Soaking Up the Love

Mom doesn't look so great I know...but I want to always remember my 34th birthday.  Carson came downstairs and asked Patrick, "Is Mom still sleeping?".  When he told him I was still in bed I could hear Carson say, "Good, come on Dad I have a plan!".  Carson got out our watermelon platter to use as a tray and poured me a bowl of cereal so he could bring me breakfast in bed.  We've never done that before so I have no idea where he got the idea, but it melted my heart to mush.  BIRTHDAY MADE before 7am!
Mom's birthday cake, decorated by Carson and Laney!
With Auntie getting married this month, we've had lots of wedding stuff out.  This is Laney in her great great grandmother's wedding dress!  I used to wear it when I was little and soon Laney can too!
Laney with a sword...I don't think that could be good.  She's wearing my old Marine Corps tee shirt too!

 Hanging with the Aageson clan!
For Patrick's birthday Carson got creative yet AGAIN!  He took a role of wrapping paper and drew a poster for Patrick on the back side.  No he didn't ask, and yes he used the whole role...and got away with it too!
This time Laney has on Grandma's dress!
Carson can't just draw with chalk, he has to fill up buckets with water and experiment with colored water and wet chalk.  Nothing can be simple.
 Lemonade!
On your mark.  Get set.  Go!  Every year Carson does the East Grand Rapids Kid's Races and this year Laney got to join in!  She was even more into it than Carson.  She's in the front row towards the left up top at the starting line.
Laney runs like the wind!  She ran 4 races including the half mile!  She started walking around a quarter mile and then heard the announcement that there were fruit roll ups and juice awaiting the kids at the finish line...and SHE WAS OFF!!!!  She would even put her arms up around the bleachers when she heard people cheering!  It was hysterical.

Grandpa ran over to run with the kids after his 10k.  Carson says he was waiting for Grandpa to run with him and that's why he didn't want to do all the races.  Well, we know for next year!

Carson and Max giving high fives under water :-)
It's just so hard to believe Carson is a first grader now!  Where in the world did this year go?
On the last day of school Grandpa came to see Carson get off the bus.  It was a half day of school so as the bus pulled away the train came rolling through!  It was an extra special treat for Carson to get to watch the train from up close with Grandpa.

June 12th Auntie married Uncle Adam!  This was Carson and Laney's third appearance as ring bearer and flower girl!  The whole day was fantastic starting with the most beautiful, happiest bride you've ever seen!

Carson actually tuckered out pretty early and asked to head back to the hotel with Grandma and Grandpa Brang.  Laney on the other hand, danced and partied with us until 12:30am!  I'm sure I will have lots more photos to post soon, but these are the few I have gathered up so far.

The after party was at our house the day after the wedding!  We had our families from Georgia and Maryland here with us.  It was so much fun!  We wish we could see everyone more often!

A visit from Nana wouldn't be complete without her making donuts!

Carson and Laney soaked up all the extra love and attention!  We miss everybody already!

Grandpa met us at Meijer Gardens this week to check out the new Japanese Garden.  It was quite the site!

.

Banchie Babies Sleepover!!!  Last night Ms. Courtney brought her three kiddos Luke, Elle, and baby Drew over and Ms. Kate brought little Bennett to have a big slumber party at our house!  It was seriously like in the movie "Home Alone" the night before they all leave for the vacation when kids are running around everywhere, stuff is spilling all over, and no one knows where the dog is!  It was pure chaos and pure joy!  What fun!  It rained most of the night and of course it started raining right as we were all getting ready to head to the park the next afternoon, but these kiddos found a way to have a blast all cooped up in the house!  The Mom's stayed up chatting until 1:30am and snuggling on baby Drew!  These kids are best buds already.  So much love!

This is a shot of Laney, Max, and Carson watching the ice cream truck come down the street for the first time this summer.  Summer is here!
