Happy Father's Day...right after church where we had to split up because it was so crowded. Carson sat with Patrick and Laney sat with me. About half way through the service I looked up and Carson had written a note on his notepad to us and was holding it up. It said,"Mom Come Here". So even though he wasn't talking, the three rows behind him were busy reading his signs (yes he made more than one) and looking around to see who he was trying to message. Not disruptive AT ALL (sigh)....but it was actually pretty hilarious once we were out!
Our first strawberry! Carson and Laney both planted strawberry plants this year and Laney got her first strawberry a couple weeks ago! It was sooooo exciting! The kids both get a couple strawberries daily now and they can't wait to check for them every morning. It has been way more successful than our green bean growing. The kids actually want to eat them!
The kids just can't wait to get to spend time with their cousin Eliana. We only wish we could play with her more often!
Uncle Patrick finally got to actually hold his adorable niece! See he's not so bad :-)
Carson played some "Old Maid" with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Blake....he was having a blast until he picked the Old Maid. It still hasn't occurred to him that you could NOT win a game and still have fun.
This girl rides her bike at lightening speed every single day! You have to get on a bike to keep up with her. She went 12 times around our block one day, which is several miles. She's also ridden to both parks by us. I don't think those training wheels will be on for long.
Baseball with Aunt Sarah! Every time Laney would hit the ball she'd do a dance and say, "Shake your bom bom". Yep.
Happy 4th of July! Our little tradition continues! The kids decorated their bikes at the park on the 3rd and decided they wanted to actually ride in the parade this year. On the 4th we walked/rode bikes to the fire house for pancake breakfast before the parade with Grandma and Grandpa Brang, Aunt Sarah, and Uncle Blake...and we met Grandma and Grandpa there too! Afterwards Patrick took Laney and Carson to the parade start to get ready to ride with the kids. I guess Laney was having a complete meltdown about me not being there (we were all waiting on the parade route). She was screaming and carrying on when they all started. Patrick just gave her a push and made her start riding even with all the screaming....then suddenly everyone started clapping for the kids and Laney went right into beauty pageant mode! She stopped crying and screaming and put on an instant smile. She kept one hand on her bike and the other she held up with a very special beauty queen wave. Wow. Just wow.

This is a split shot from when Carson was 2 years old with his decorated bike at the parade in Birkdale down in North Carolina compared to this year when he was 5. Just stop it. Stop growing already!
And the fun continues with a cookout and pool time at Ms. Jodie's, There were so many kids swimming that Carson and Laney pulled up chairs and decided to be the "lifeguards" for a bit.
Whoa Laney! She did that like 15 times...no fear at all and only 1 belly flop.

We ended the night with the Amway fireworks and Smores! The kids made it to 11 o'clock after a long day which is pretty surprising.
Sunday we were up and at em again and off to Uncle Tom and Aunt Dawn's Cottage! Carson wasted NO time...he literally ran from the car to the paddle boat where he went out into their cove. Shockingly he is very good at steering that thing by himself! He even took Laney for some rides.
Laney sees Carson always getting to be the captain so she decided it was her turn!
Laney caught 6 fish...by herself...and attempted to get them off the hook....and threw them back...by herself.
Carson loved catching the fish as well, but he held that rod WAY OUT away from him and he wanted nothing to do with touching the fish. He did come up with this big idea to keep the fish in buckets and what not...but we just threw them back in the water. Nice try Carson.
What a fun day! We were at the cottage for 7 hours and the kids never sat down except maybe for 2 minutes to eat a hotdog. They can't even wait to go back again.
