Reading, Racing, and the Big 3-5!

Grandma caught Laney reading to Evie upstairs one morning...Evie was really watching her! And Laney is quite the reader, seriously.  You read her a book twice and she remembers every word...and if you skip even one word in a long paragraph, she will call you out on it!

Grandma came over to sleep over with us one night when Patrick was out of town.  It was so fun, Laney is constantly asking when she can sleepover, so it made her day!
Our third annual East Grand Rapids Kids Races!  Carson and Laney both participated again this year!  Laney actually ran more races than Carson, she just didn't tire out!  She has quite the running stance too.  She looks like a natural out there.

Carson is in the orange shirt...go Carson go!
Laney is there in the purple!
Grandpa and Daddy escorted Laney on the 800 meter race.  That's two full laps around and Laney made it the whole way!

Ahhh....rest and recovery!  Grandma even bought them some ice cream as a special treat!

The kids had a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's house last week.  The highlight was that they opened up the couch sleeper.  Carson's mind was pretty blown with that!  He had no clue the couch could actually be a bed! They stayed up late and had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.  So fun!

After we dropped off the kids at Grandma and Grandpa's we took Evie and stopped at the Ada Brewery to visit with our friends for one of our neighbors birthday's.  Evie was the life of the party as you can see.

Check out those little toes peeking out at the bottom...ahhhh.  Evie is changing so much every single day.  I could just eat her up she is so pleasant.  Just this morning she started babbling out of nowhere.  It all just happens so fast!
 Baking lemon bars with Grandma!

Grandpa Brang went to work with Patrick for "Take Your Dad to Work Day" and it just happened to be on Patrick's birthday!  So we had a special guest for dinner!  Grandpa Brang, Grandma and Grandpa, and the Wilkins joined us for some birthday fun!

Evie found herself in the swing mirror this week!  I remember both Carson and Laney doing this like it was yesterday.  She was fascinated with that cute baby in the mirror smiling and talking back to her.
Laney had her last soccer game of the season this week!  She's got that number one sign down!  She was honestly more interested in the soccer game snacks than she was in playing soccer...but you never know she might take to it down the road we will see!
