Laney picked out Evie's skirt and let her wear her favorite bracelet too :-)
That's one unique birthday cake!
Carson got the "Patience" award from his counselors at Spring Hill. Wait, what...patience? Really? Carson is already asking when he can go back to Spring Hill and he really wants to try to the over night camp too! I'm not ready for this!
The very last kid in his first grade class to lose a tooth! He was really hoping it would at least happen before second grade and his wish came true! He lost it on July 1st at his other friend Carson's house while eating a hot dog. The tooth fairy brought him four $1 bills and one gold dollar coin. Lucky kid! The first tooth costs the most!
We weren't at Aunt Dawn and Uncle Tom's cottage for even 5 minutes before Carson and Laney were out paddling around the lake. The kids just love visiting the cottage...well, we all do!
Here are Carson's fishing rules: Laney puts the worm on the hook. She hands him the fishing pole. Carson catches a fish. Laney takes the fish off the hook and throws it back in the water. He LOVES to fish but touching the bait or the fish...not so much.
Laney did a lot of talking to the fish. One time I was walking by and she was knelt down looking at the water saying, "Don't worry fish I won't hurt you. I 'll just say hi and put you back!"
Uncle Blake and Uncle Tom were really good sports to help the kids with all their fishing and even some kayaking.
What do you do with a crabby baby at the lake? Ask Grandpa to walk her around!
Evie used a pacifier for about 20 minutes last night...whoop whoop! Will she keep it up? Only time with tell!
Look at this pair! We had a special overnight visit with the Morin Family for the 4th of July! They got in late Sunday night so it was a big surprise for the kids to wake up to their best buds in the morning. Getting 6 kids fed and out the door by 9am for the Ada Parade was quite the task! I barely remember it all! But I know one thing...it was so much fun!
We all walked/rode bikes downtown and obviously we were running late. The kids made it to the start of the parade just as it started to get going, so they just swung into the front and went for it! It's hard to tell but this is Laney leading the parade and waving as usual. It's her 3 minutes in the spotlight!
Candy! Candy! Candy! We actually lost Courtney, Ben, and Elle in the crowd and some of us forgot to carry cell phones (I won't say who but it wasn't me or Patrick...ha). So Elle collected candy with them on the opposite end of town.
Carson was so happy to have his buddy Luke with him. They rode in the parade together on their bikes.
Evie and Drew got to just lay back and watch the parade floats go by.
In the midst of all the morning commotion we were able to meet up with Grandma Brang!
Look who we found after the parade! What a crew! What a fun day!
We grilled out with the Morin's, Grandma, and some neighbors all afternoon. Then we headed outside for more nighttime fun with sparklers before the big Amway fireworks show.
