Squeezing In Some End of Summer Fun!

Carson has been BEGGING us to go to Sky Zone all summer so we had to squeeze it in before school!

He even convinced Grandpa to go with us and jump with them.

Neighborhood Soccer Game!  All the kids from our block grabbed some jerseys and got a friendly game of soccer going in our front yard one night.

Check out that crocodile in the water there!  My parents went with us to Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park last week.  The kids favorite part was by far standing in the bird cage!  Ew!  Thank goodness Grandpa was willing to hang out in there with them while they fed bird after bird after bird.

Waiting for the safari ride to pick us up!

Laney trying to share her bird with another kid.  She's always been a good sharer.

On our way home we saw this cute ice cream caboose and made a quick u-turn to get a yummy treat!
Never too early for Halloween stuff right?!

Evie OWNS her saucer.  She spins around in it pushing every button, pulling every lever, and opening every door.  She jumps and rocks in it so hard like she's trying to jump right out.
Pinata on Max's birthday!  Laney's favorite as you can imagine!

Evei's 5 month old shot!  This little cutie is still my mini me.  We just hang out ALL DAY LONG! The girl never naps...hardly ever.  Seriously, she's up the entire day most days.  Sometimes she'll snooze for 15 minutes in the car if we go somewhere.  But other than that she's just ready to party all day! She loves her brother and sister more than anything.  She can't wait to see their faces in the morning when they come downstairs.   She gives them more smiles and laughs than anybody.  Everson is working on sitting up on her own.  She rolls all over the place and she can get from one side of the room to the other when you aren't looking.  The other night I laid her on her belly on her blanket in front of the tv so I could work on dinner and when I looked over at her a few minutes later she was up on Lexi's dog pillow.

Late morning snuggles...won't get these anymore once school starts!

Evie was happy to sport her MSU gear for her first football game!
Evie "found" Lexi last week.  Just finally saw her.  I remember when Carson and Laney saw Lexi for the first time too.  It's pretty awesome.  She grabbed Lexi's fur and when Lexi jumped up and yelped Evie just laughed and laughed.  She just couldn't get enough of it!  She gives her lots of kisses and loves pulling on all that dog hair.  Lexi is so good to the kids.

We just had to squeeze in one more day at Uncle Tom and Aunt Dawn's cottage too!  Carson is just really in his element there.  He caught a tiny baby turtle right away.  Aunt Dawn is going to keep it and take care of it with her kindergarten class, so she'll be able to keep Carson posted on how he's doing.  Carson named him "King".

Catching fish!  Now where is that Uncle Blake to get that fish off the hook when you need him?

Uncle Dwight did some baby whispering :-)

Carson and Laney attemped to take the paddle boat out to the slide on their own.  I don't think either one actually went down the slide.  But they made it out and back!
We let Carson take the kayak out in the cove on his own.  I mean this kid can kayak!  He went several laps around just as happy as could be!

 Captain Laney!
Thanks for the fun memories on the lake this summer!  We will be back next year!
My Dad helped Carson make this pirate sword out of wood one day.  It just makes him so happy when someone will let him actually create whatever he is thinking up in that brain of his.
 Beep beep!
And just like that the summer is over and we have a 2nd grader!  I needed him to go back to school with every part of my being...and yet I just miss him like crazy the second he steps onto that bus.  This year Max and several other buddies will ride to school with him so he's extra excited.  He had a great first day.  He drives me up the wall most days, but I am so proud of him.
