A Pirate and a Baker

 Laney loves baking!  Especially when it's her favorite cookies with Grandma!

 Aye!!!  We found out about "dress as a pirate day" the night before...so Patrick ran out to the store late night to find an eye patch and bandanna.  Carson was super into it because if you dressed up your name was put into a drawing for a free book from the book fair.  There would be one winner from each class.  So as we helped him dress up in the morning we prepared him that this did not mean he was winning a book, in fact, I told him he absolutely was not winning, but to have fun dressed as a pirate for the day.  Well, you should have seen the smile on his face when he came in the door holding a pack of two new chapter books from the book fair.  Every student in his class dressed up except for 2 students, and Carson was the name drawn...this kid seriously!

 Laney kneaded and rolled the dough for our pizza rolls all by herself, after she helped me make the dough that morning.  We have so much fun in the kitchen!

 We got to spend some time with Aunt Roxie, Uncle Jeff, and Nana this week!

 Evie loves drinking from cups!  She's drinking her formula from a regular cup, no sippy top, no straw, just a small cup!  She'll take 1-2 ounces with breakfast, lunch, and dinner and I'll take it!

 Had to stop in at Founders of course!

 Laney didn't know what to do with all of Uncle Jeff's teasing about taking Carson's Halloween candy when he wasn't looking.  Laney wasn't biting!

 Everson is constantly on the lookout for Laney and Carson, either one, anytime, anywhere.

 And our little baker got to help Nana and Grandma make Nana's famous donuts too!  What a lucky girl!

Everson had to get her flu booster shot this week, just a real quick in and out of the doctors office.  I took Laney (aka the brave one) with me.  She kept talking Evie up as we were going in telling her it was only going to hurt for a second and that she could be brave like her.  Well, Evie was brave and she really only cried for maybe 5 seconds and we were good to go.  When we got home Laney looked at me and said, "Mom, I wish I could take shots for Evie so she wouldn't have to cry.".  And I know she meant it.   My heart may have grown a size or two in that moment.
