Guess who's 4?!! Ugh, the day before the big day she asked, "Who's coming to my birthday?". That was a heart breaker to try to explain why we couldn't have a party with her family this year. There is no part of this that she understands. But, we put our minds together and as family I think we pulled off a pretty fun birthday party on our own. First up, breakfast in bed with donuts from Sprinkles!
In her new Jojo Siwa dress, showing she is 4 years old!
Grandma and Grandpa came by and left some gifts in the garage for Evie to open. We couldn't hang out for long or give any hugs like we wanted to, but we blew kisses from afar.
McDonald's Happy Meals for lunch as Evie requested.
Thank goodness for Zoom! We had our whole family, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins singing Happy Birthday to Everson at the same time! We all LOVED that!
Garage dance party with Maeve later in the day when they came to drop off a present too. It's so hard being apart!
Laney and Evie opened up their own Japanese Steakhouse in the basement with all Evie's new cooking toys.
Carson and Laney have started cooking! They can both make grilled cheese sandwiches independently now. It's been pretty awesome because they make turns making sandwiches for everyone while I cut the fruit. Pretty soon I'll just be sitting back and relaxing, right?
Laney's teacher suggested another new park and trail for us to explore. This new one in Lowell has a large wooden bridge that goes across the Grand River. We've been there several times this week already!
Puzzle time!
Surprise donut delivery from Grandpa!
Laney's class Zoom meeting. So fun! Ugh, when I had to tell them that school was cancelled for the rest of the year, my heart seriously ached. Carson even said, "Oh no" and he rarely admits that he likes school. The disappointment and shock on his face almost broke me. Tears were shed. Hopefully these Zoom meetings will keep going because the kids so love seeing their teacher and classmates. I literally sit around the corner and cry every time I hear them all chatting.
Well this is fun :-)
Seidman Park Hike. Another new one for us! Who knew we had SO many great parks for hiking just around the corner. No, we didn't make that tee-pee but we were sure excited to find it!
That's a "T" made by Evie! We put it on her Marco Polo app to show her class. Evie is participating in online learning from her preschool and it's pretty cool. All the teachers and students are always communicating through these Marco Polo videos, they send video lessons to the kids, craft ideas, letters of the week activities, and facebook lives from the farm.
They LOVE this log that goes into the water. I figure worst case, they have a long, wet, walk back to the car. No one has fallen in yet.
One day we rode our bikes to downtown Ada and got some Starbucks to enjoy down by the river. No touch treats! First time frappuccinos.
Car wash day!
Friday nights are sleepover movie nights at our house. Evie made it this time!
The kids got to choose which park to take Patrick to on Sunday and they chose Seidman Park again just so they could show him their log in the water.
Goof balls pretending to be stunt actors in a movie on one of our walks.
Laney has been busy perfecting her back bend kick over and her back walk over!
And since Laney has been making so many gymnastics video, I guess Evie did too. I was going through my photos and videos one night when I came upon this gem. Looks like Carson helped her get started. This is worth the watch.
Heading into week 4 of quarantine...we can do this!
