It all Started with Disney on Ice...

It all started with Disney on Ice...which was AMAZING by the way.  It was Laney and Evie's second time getting to go and it was just as magical as the first time.  Just makes me want to go back!

NO ONE loved the magic more than Maren.  NO ONE.  

Can't go without spending your life savings on an treat at these Disney shows :-) 

So yeah, February started off magically...the next day Maeve and Maren went down with a mysterious illness and they were home sick for 5-6 days.  I thought we had escaped it but unfortunately Laney came down with similar symptoms the following Friday, a whole week later!  We didn't even think it could be the same thing.  But about 1 week after that, Evie and Carson came down with the SAME THING.  Tired, weak, dizzy, low appetite, fever.  Not the worst but it lasted SOOOO long.  About 6 days for each of the kids.  Laney missed a week of school, she missed the Daddy/Daughter Dance, her 5th grade class fieldtrip to the go bowling, a birthday party, a soccer and a basketball game.  Then, when she finally went back to school, Carson came home from a ski weekend with his friends family with the same mysterious illness, the same day Evie went down.  They were sick for about 6 days as well.  We had them tested for everything. No Flu A, no Flu B, no Strep (even though it looked like it in their throats), no Mono (thank goodness!), and no, it really wasn't Covid.  We checked them several times and even had the test down at the doctor to be sent to the lab.  Not Covid.  Whatever it was, it spanned the entire month of February and for 3 weeks straight we had a kid home sick.  Thank goodness Patrick is working from home so I was able to keep working.  They didn't need much, just a couch and refills on fluids.  We are so glad that is over.  We are DONE being sick! Good-bye February! 

On one of the few days the girls weren't sick, Laney's basketball team got together to go to the MSU Women's basketball game against Michigan.  I LOVE that they got to see the girls rocking it out there on the court too.  And of course, got on that Jumbotron AGAIN.

AHHHHH!  Laney scared me TO DEATH when she came out with this face mask.  She felt younger and more radiant and she swears it works.  

Evie got to take Grandma to "Donuts with Grandparents" before school one morning.  She was over the moon about it!  

Just doing some Sams Club shopping here, nothing to see.

Daddy-Daughter Dance!  Evie had SO much fun with her Dad, Maeve, and lots of her school buddies.  

 

Laney got dressed up for the pic, she was so sad to be missing this dance!  Don't worry, she got to go out with Patrick a different night.  

Evie's teacher sent me this pic from indoor recess.  Evie is in the teacher chair and apparently playing school with her classmates...and of course she is the teacher!

Grandpa signed up to be the 1st Mystery Reader for Evie's class during March is Reading Month.  The teacher gave the class clues throughout the week and Evie was suspicious right away when she heard the reader enjoyed donuts and coffee.  She was 100% certain with the final clue, that the reader was a Marine.  It was an exciting visit!  

Just love getting to listen to Carson in the Middle School Orchestra.  This week I took him to Freshmen Orientation at the high school and we started requesting classes for next year.  It's so exciting and yet so awful at the same time. I'm just sick to my stomach that high school has already snuck up on us.  Eeeek!
