The day after the kids came home from Camp Henry, we were off on our next adventure. Flo-RIDA here we come! Our flight was about an hour delayed, which apparently warranted Starbucks treats. Patrick is so much nicer than me. We got to Florida super late and headed to our Orlando hotel. The next morning, Universal Studios Water Park: Volcano Bay!
We got to Florida at the same time as the "Heat Dome". Yeah, it's a real thing I didn't make that up. It had been mostly in Texas and then followed us to Florida apparently. The morning of the water park we walked out of our hotel at 8:45 am and the real feel temp was already 119 degrees. No, that wasn't a typo, 119! Good thing we were staying wet all day! The park was awesome, we lasted about 6 hours and would have stayed longer but the heat was exausting. Loved Volcano Bay! Next stop, Aunt Sarah and Uncle Mike's Condo!

This is the life, isn't it.
Our family has been so spoiled to be able to vacation at this beautiful home every summer. We love everything about it and we are so grateful to get to go. Nothing like the ocean.
The kids were not happy to be missing our Ada Parade and traditional 4th of July activities, but that faded pretty fast when they figured out we were getting beach fireworks right in front of Aunt Sarah and Uncle Mike's beautiful patio! Who could ask for anything more?! Seriously!

I spy DOLPHINS! Several times on this trip. Seems like they come back every afternoon between 1-2. I could sit there and watch them for hours.
The low tide revealed lots of tidal pools to find fish and crabs in.

The Gregor's were able to stop by and stay with us for a couple days on our trip!

On our way to the airport we planned to stop at Buc-ees! I have heard the tales, but could never have imagined this gas station. Are we calling it a gas station? The size of a football field. A cross between a mall and a market. We shopped till we dropped and there was so much we didn't get through. They were making fudge, candied almonds, smoking bbq and brisket, there was a bakery making fresh baked goods, tacos, burritos, wraps, sandwiches, taffy, a deli, a wall of slurpies, a wall of coffees, I could go on and on! We wanted to stay forever. If you see one, stop. Go with an empty stomach. And just plan on spending at least an hour there.
Summer wouldn't be complete without some lemonade stands!
Tuesday's are for the Ada Farmer's Market...I pick up the fruits and veggies and they always seem to snag a sweet treat.
Laney has been wanting to try fake nails all summer...she's been babysitting and saved up enough, so Grandma took her for a day at the salon!
Annual trip to Boulder Ridge Park with Auntie, Uncle Adam, Grandma, and Grandpa! Checking off that summer 23 bucket list.
Patrick and I went golfing to celebrate our 19th anniversary. When we got home there was this sweet note on the door, a candle and a delicious snack for us on the table, and the kids had traced and cut out a Happy Anniversary sign. It was so considerate...we just HAD to take them to dinner with us.
Carson and Graham made this fire for themselves just to make some smores.
