Evie and her friend Elaina...we were so happy to get to have this playdate. Evie was out of school sick for 6 full days and she was FINALLY back and feeling better. So happy to see that smile!
Laneys Girl Scout Troup went to a local retirement home to sing Christmas Carols. Her friend Ellie's grandmother lives at the home, which made it extra special.
There's a whole story to these 2 team pics. Laney's soccer team broke into 2 smaller teams only for the winter Futsol season (because less players play and this way everyone gets to play more). Well, one of the days they were scheduled to play each other. We thought it sounded like so much fun, but Laney wasn't having it. She didn't even want to go because she just couldn't handle playing hard against her own teammates and even wanting to beat them. She wanted to try to play goalie for both teams. Instead, her coaches used a sub goalie on both teams, which allowed Laney to play on the court. It still stressed her out but she was happier with that scenerio. Well, this pic was taken at half time of the game. The girls all played hard and were neck and neck with the score. Laney called everyone out to the center of the court before the second half began, and had them all do a full team cheer. It's hard to see their faces, but they all LIT up. So happy to be reminded that they were all still on 1 team together, supporting each other and helping each other grow. It ended up being one of Laney's favorite games, and everyone left smiling. It didn't go unnoticed what Laney did out there, you just can't teach that. We are so impressed with her leadership skills every day. Her drive and competitive nature never out way her kind, encouraging, empathetic nature. She brings people together!
