Too Much Summer Fun!

Camp Henry Time!!!  Laney had a whole slew of friends join her for camp this year and Evie went to her first FULL week of camp all on her own!  She loved knowing Laney would be there too and they got to see each other every morning.  So proud of her for being so brave and trying something new.

The note we got in the mail on camp week!  It made our week for sure.
While the girls went to Camp Henry, Carson stayed with my parents.  Grandpa drove him all the way down to Cincinnati for a Reds game and Skyline chili.  Carson loved it all.  I remember making those same trips with my Dad when I was a kid.

And finally, where were we during this kid-free week?  We headed off to Boulder, Colorado for 3 nights.  We considered this our 20th Anniversary trip.  It was AMAZING.  We stayed at the Hotel Boulderado right in the heart of downtown Boulder.  We walked between 1-2 miles from our hotel a trailhead each morning and hiked up mountains.  By lunch we were back to our hotel with 8-10 miles under our belts already!  We hopped around to different breweries and walked around University of Colorado.  We broke records for how many steps we got in and LOVED it.  Went to bed early and did it all again the next morning.  I'd say we all had the BEST week.

The view from our hotel.

This is Jaden, my little buddy from school that I worked with so much these past few years.  His Mom passed away unexpectedly at the end of the school year and it has really put a lot into perspective for me.  He wanted to come to my house and meet my dogs and meet Carson, so that is what we did!

Carson just can't resist letting the dogs get in the muddy Grand River.

Camp Success!  WE LOVE CAMP HENRY!!!

Sneaking in some golf here and there...
Laney put on her "Summer School" for the neighborhood kids in her spare time.  It was a huge hit as always.

Our day with Mare-bear!  We are taking the girls each individually for one day this summer.  The girls couldn't wait to take Maren to the Farmer's Market and to Ada Park.

We had so much fun with Maren all to ourselves!

4th of July Parade in downtown Ada!  A family favorite, the kids would never let us miss this!

Love the 4th in our hood...Amway fireworks right from our driveway.  Yes, please.  Good night.

And then Laney and Evie were in a play!  They attended a week long theater camp and were in a production that same weekend.  Laney was cast as Rapunzel and Evie was cast as Cinderella's little sister, Rella.  OMG, these girls are stars.  Laney was amazing, and we knew she would be.  She's got theater running through her blood if she could just find more time to put towards it.  The girl is so good at everything, she works so hard.  The director said in her 36 years of work she rarely sees talent like Laney.  And Evie, well we didn't know how this would go.  She's more shy and reserved.   But she practiced non stop and worked through feeling so nervous, we had tummy aches, the works - and then she came out on that stage and BLEW US AWAY.  She was cool as a cucumber and knew her lines like the back of her hand.  She flourished up there.  Wow.  STARS!

Need a babysitter?  Laney is your GIRL.  She's been babysitting 10-20 hours a week this summer.  She's loving it and she's really awesome at it.  So nice when the babysitter actually WANTS to play with the
 kids.

Our day of fun with Maeve!  We took Maeve to Ada Park and then to the MVP pool for the afternoon.  That night she had dinner with us and then Evie and Maeve went to VBS from 6-8:30.  They spent over 12 hours together and loved every minute.

Evie and Elaina pool day fun!

Alright summer, you are way too fun and going way too fast!  Slooooooowwwww down!
