Captain Carson and Lakeside Laney

Laney was so happy to pet the lamb at the zoo on our last John Ball Zoo trip.  She is starting to talk more and can say Mama, Dada, Dog, and Grandpa...she says a lot more but those are the words we can identify :-)  She can also point to everyone in her family in pictures including all 3 aunts and both sets of grandparents.  This girl knows what's going on!
The view from our local library...not very pretty is it?

Carson had his last soccer class last week and these are his teammates!  They got to choose the color shirts they got.  Carson was adamant that he was getting a pink shirt, but they only had orange, yellow, and red to choose from...he went with yellow :-)
I took the kids and met my parents at the Detroit Zoo last week.  Laney loved all the animals and we all had a great time...Carson was so happy to ride the train from the front of the zoo to the back that he hardly even noticed all the cool animals all afternoon...he just kept talking about, looking for, and listening for that train!

Look close and you'll see the crocodile staring up at Carson...it was so close Carson was a bit nervous!

Carson's clay sculpture that he made at Meijer Garden this week...we just love that place!
Laney has been asking to dress up in Carson's firefighter costume every day for the past few days.  She could be the cutest firefighter I've ever seen!
Highlight of our week...our best buds Luke and Elle came to have a sleepover with us!  Here Carson and Luke are playing outside at the ice cream shop. Notice Laney making a run for it in the background.
Laney ate half of Carson's ice cream and more than half of my shake!  Somebody likes her ice cream!
Silly face boys and chunker munker girls at the park...do they get any cuter?
Elle and Laney acted like they were best friends (because they are!)...kissing and hugging on each other...so so sweet.
Yesterday we were invited to visit Patrick's Aunt Sarah and Uncle Mike at their lake house.  Carson has never been happier.  He got to ride on the speedboat and go "faster than those other boats" as he put it, he got to drive the pontoon boat all around the lake, swim around the dock and jump from the dock to Daddy, and he kayaked with Aunt Sarah and even by himself for a bit!  Laney had a great time too but she wasn't too happy about getting in that cold water or about having to wear a lifejacket.  She did love the boat rides and getting to wonder around the pontoon while it moved...it's kind of like a big playpen on water!  Thanks so much Aunt Sarah and Uncle Mike!  Carson is already asking when we can go back and try out some fishing :-)

Don't worry...we were docked in 2 feet of water on the pier just hanging out :-)
 Captain Carson!

Flying a kite for the first time at a church park near Grandma and Grandpa's house!
Kayaking :-)
On the train at the zoo!
