Laney and Grandma Love :-)
One Friday Laney and I got to watch baby Bennett in the morning while Ms. Kate had a meeting here in Grand Rapids....
...and then we got to watch our Eliana that same afternoon! What a fun day for us! We've been waiting 10 months to have Eliana all to ourselves!
Laney read her favorite book to her, and she really listened!
We took a walk to the bus stop and Carson was ecstatic to see his baby cousin! He yelled at me right away because he said I was letting the sun get in Eliana's face and he quickly put the cover down to shade her face. That boy!

We took our annual trip to Gull Meadows, the Pumpkin Patch...and the weather did not disappoint. We have a very strict routine of going on the day when the weather is the coldest and wettest possible, and this year's weather fit in just perfect. Man was it cold! But I will tell you what, the kids act like they don't even notice. They didn't complain even once (while the parents froze in misery). After 3 hours we had to drag them away, full of mud, sopping wet clothes, and bellies full of donuts and cider. The Wilkins came with us again this year but it was so cold I just didn't do the best with group pictures. My hands had to stay in my pockets!

This pic if from Laney's preschool open house. Carson was pretty excited to get to go back to his old classroom. When he saw Mrs. Neeley he gave her the biggest hug.
You think Carson is waiting until Halloween to carve his pumpkin? Yeah right! I barely got him to wait three days once we got those pumpkins. At least the weather was perfect for carving outside!
Carson cut, scooped, and carved his pumpkin completely by himself again this year. He does pretty good! Laney scooped her pumpkin out and then she asked me to carve a bat into hers.
This is the conversation Carson and I had the other morning:
Carson: "Mom, what if we had 8 kids in our familiy?"
Me: "Carson, we will never have 8 kids. Three is it for us."
Carson: "But Mom, if we did have 8 kids you know what you and Dad would have to do?"
Me: "What Carson? What would we have to do?"
Carson: "You would have to start buying 2 containers of cinnamon rolls instead of just one."
Wow, the solver of all our problems, Carson Brang.
Carson had his annual Walk-a-thon at school last week. I was signed up to volunteer at the park at the end of their 2 mile walk, but the school called me to substitute teach that day instead. So I walked with the second graders, Grandpa walked with Carson and his class, and Grandma brought Laney up to the park to see all the kids! It takes a village that's for sure.

Happy 60th birthday's Grandma and Grandpa! Auntie and I managed to pull off a great surprise party for them back in Clarkston. What fun!

Carson and Patrick had their first Cub Scout function last weekend, CAMPING! It's really not Patrick's thing but he will do it as much as Carson wants. Carson had a blast! He climbed a rock wall, played on the rope swing, they had smores around the fire and told ghost stories, and went on nature hikes. Ask him what his favorite part was and he will tell you it was waking up in the morning with Daddy and playing catch with the ball that they found in the cabin. Too cute.
