Carson and Laney got the girls playing Christmas Bingo and Uno Attack within minutes of them walking in the door for their long car ride.
Grandma and Jill kept Everson and Maeve while the rest of us spent the afternoon snow tubing! So fun! I didn't get to go last year because I was pregnant and I really missed it. Laney was tall enough this year and I don't think anyone had more fun than her. She kept telling us she was a little nervous and making sure that she didn't "have" to go down the hill if she didn't want to. We assured her she didn't have to do anything but Patrick and I were sure she was going to love it. So we watched and waited all the way up the magic carpet ride with all 10 of us and when we got to the top we all tried to get organized so we could go down as one big group the first time and what did Laney do? She announced she was going down on her own, and first! She hopped on her own tube and went down solo. And it's a long ride down people! That girl...we knew it!
Every time Laney would get to the bottom of the hill she would yell, "Let's do it again!". She even got to where she was going down with her hands up in the air like she was on a roller coaster. She is our dare devil for sure.
Tickle tickle!
After everyone left to head back down south we spent the rest of the week hanging out and relaxing and it was AMAZING! Patrick took the week off and every day we slept in, made breakfast, laid around, and made a plan for the day! Sometimes it was just going to open gymnastics or stopping in to see Grandma and Grandpa and several days Patrick took the kids to the Aquatic Center Pool where the kids take their swim lessons. Evie even got to splash around one day but they keep the water pretty cool so we didn't keep her in very long. She never complained but I was cold just looking at her! Carson and Laney had so much fun going off the diving boards.
Just when we thought Christmas was over.... not!! Late in the week we headed to Midland to celebrate Christmas with the Brang side of the family! We got to welcome Aunt Sarah and Uncle Blake back from their 5 month stay in South Korea and hear all about their trip! We had been missing them. We all got lots of fun Korean goodies too!
We love all the cousin fun time!
These two are inseparable when we all get together!
Thanks for hosting and for the fun crafts Aunt Beth and Uncle Nader!
To wrap up the week we celebrated New Year's with sparkling cider that Laney said tasted like "a hot bubble bath" and Carson and Laney got to sleepover at Grandma and Granpa's that ended with a special Rudolph pancake breakfast at Denny's! NO ONE wanted to get back to our every day life on Tuesday. Carson growled for several minutes while I was waking him up. It was such a nice holiday and I'm just so grateful everyone stayed healthy!
