Ludington, Boulder Ridge, Tarzan, and Birthday Part 1!

 Pool time!

Patrick was out of town last week so Evie got to spend the evening with Auntie and Maeve while I got to take Carson and Laney to see Tarzan the Musical!  Our friend Jake was the star of the show once again.  Laney said it was the best show she's ever seen :-)

August in Ada!  Always a hot one every year.  Whew!

Last weekend we spent Saturday at the Boulder Ridge Zoo and we took the whole fam with us!  We had a blast from the Safari ride to feeding the birds, giraffes, and alligators!

Ice cream treat to end a fun day at the zoo!

We got a new slip n slide to use for Carson's birthday party.  It's 50 feet long and super heavy duty.  We pull that thing out most nights lately, it brings the crowds from the neighborhood.  There may have even been some adults that just couldn't resist :-)  It's by far the kids favorite thing right now. Money well spent.

Time for our annual day trip to Ludington!  This is our favorite beach and beach town by far.

Climbing the dunes!  "She believe she could, so she did!" - Laney
 'A' for EFFORT Evie.

Patrick and the kids crossed the river to get to the sand bar.  I took pictures.

Sand castle competition!  These guys were just practicing for the real competition the following week.  They were there when we got to the beach and they were still there hours later when we left.  That's some kind of hobby.

After the beach we went downtown and met up with Grandma and Grandpa for dinner at our favorite spot, Jamesport Brewing, and of course had to stop at House of Flavors for ice cream!
Morning snuggles after a busy weekend at the beach!
Carson's birthday isn't for a few more days, but since we will be on our family vacation in Traverse City on his actual birthday, he requested breakfast in bed early, on the day he was having his friends over for his birthday celebration.

The boys had a blast on the new slide and with their new squirt guns.  We had pizza, cake, popcorn, a movie or two, and they were out by midnight.  What a fun group of boys!

Carson, Elliott, Sawyer, Carson G., and Graham.

Meanwhile, the girls got to have a "girl's night" at Auntie's house with Auntie, Maeve, and Grandma!  They played hopscotch, painted nails, and ate lots of ice cream.

Evie is actually in this pic, snuggled deep inside her sleeping bag.
Laney also got to go with her friend Abby to the Lowell County Fair and to the pool.  They felt a little sick on those rides but they kept at em anyways!

Grandma spelled "Laney" with dominoes!
