From Laney's School to the Pool and up to Boyne too

 Laney's Summer School 2022 is in session!  Last year Laney and her friends held a "school" for some of the little kids on our block.  It was such a success they had to bring it back!  When kids found out about it they came by the flocks asking if they could come too!  I think Laney was overwhelmed with the interest, next time she'll plan for more peeps.  Laney, Kaylee, and Thapaysia planned for HOURS and HOURS over the course of several days.  They had everything planned out, labeled, sign in sheets on the bathroom door, activity materials prepared...they planned every last detail....just not that an extra 6 kids would show up.  Laney made it work with a smile on her face and everyone had a the best time!  

Parents have already been asking when the next "school day" will be :-)  Our neighborhood really is the best, we are so lucky.  

Carson got a little jealous of all the littles having fun and had to get his hands in some shaving cream too.  Seriously.  

Laney's new kick is to have colored hair.  Our neighbor Ms. Megan kindly agreed to put in some blue highlights for her from home.  It turned out so cute.  That was about a month ago and it has faded to this beautiful teal color.  We are loving it and can't believe it has lasted this long!  

Next up, Brang family trip to Boyne!  First night was a BLAST!  We hit the indoor water park and then roasted smores and had some beverages in the village...then we walked back to our house!   It was a pretty perfect night if you ask me.  

Day 2:  The guys golfed, the rest of us looked for Petoskey stones up in Petoskey, got soft pretzels, had lunch at Beards Brewery, went Putt Putt, and then to Stiggs in Boyne City for dinner.

The Stalders got GREAT news that Nicky was officially 1 year CANCER FREE while we were at dinner so we had a lot to celebrate!  Had to hit those smores up again and try out the arcade while we were at it.

Day 3:  Patrick, Carson, and Laney went ziplining, the girls and I went up the chairlift with Aunt Beth, Uncle Nader, Eliana, and Addie, we had a photo shoot and even found Patrick and the kids ziplining throught the trees!, we hit the beach at Deer Lake (and the tiki bar), and we had dinner at the bottom of the hill!

Boyne was so fun we didn't want it all to end, so we extended our stay and met up with our friends the Offers for lunch on Walloon Lake!  It was a gorgeous day and we were able to find some icecream afterwards too.   What a fun way to end the weekend!  

It's a rare day when they all play together at the pool. 

The week after Boyne, Grandma and Grandpa asked to take each kid for a sleepover.  Carson got to golf, go to the movies, and eat dinner at Qdoba.  He also played endless board games like Scrabble and Yatzee.  I don't think he ever wanted to come home.  Next was Evie!  She got to go out to dinner and bake brownies with Grandma.  And then it was Laney's turn and she knew just what she wanted to do with uninterupted grandparent time.  Her and my Mom MADE A SKIRT.  It took almost 4 hours but they shopped for fabric and then Grandma guided Laney each step of the way and taught her how to use the sowing machine.  They had homemade steak for dinner and Laney was in HEAVEN.  She too didn't want to ever come home the next day.  These kids have been seriously LIVING IT UP this summer.

Laney and Evie ended July with soccer camp and they LOVED it.  Carson is still golfing in his junior league and getting some lessons in as well.  He's also still getting violin lessons and has taken some interest in the guitar!  I hate to see July end.  I can't even believe how much we were able to do this month.  I'm so joyful about it all and I just don't want it to ever end!
