Slimy Fish in the Summer!

 Face painting at our Ada Farmer's Market!  We've been waiting for farmer's market Tuesday's to start back up...and although our favorite bakery hasn't made an appearance there yet, we are still finding other goodies and having fun!  Our fingers are crossed and Carson is so hopeful that our favorite cinnamon twists will show up once again some Tuesday soon...

 All of us had a BLAST at Uncle Tom and Aunt Dawn's cottage last weekend.  Laney is posing with Lewis above and the kids are taking Patrick for a paddle boat ride below.  Carson paddled and steered that thing by himself.

 Captain Carson drove us all around the lake on his own with co-captain Uncle Tom close by.

 And of course Laney had to have a turn being "Captain Laney".

 Kayaking with Uncle Blake....and....drumroll please....Carson caught his very first FISH!  (finally!)  What was interesting is that as much as he wanted to throw out the line and reel the fish in on his own...he did not want to come within two feet of that little fish!  He was screaming and saying, "I'm not touching that thing put it back!".  So I'm not sure how much fishing is in his future we will see :-)  Laney, on the other hand, was ready to grab that fish and throw it back in herself!

Carson ended up catching probably 7 fish...and did touch one of them with one finger...and then told me he had to wash his hands BEFORE he used the bathroom because he didn't want to get any fish on him.  Wow.

After 6 hours they FINALLY tuckered out!  That is hard to do!

Baking cupcakes with Grandma!  Carson has been doing some letter searches and some fun school activities when Laney is napping.  He earns points and then chooses a reward.  Last week we went to toddler time at SkyZone to jump on the trampolines and this week he asked if his reward could be baking with Grandma.

Hard to believe...don't move, don't blink, don't say anything...but Laney has her hair in a ponytail!!!  How this happened I still don't really comprehend.  She was helping my Mom with the dishes and my Mom said something like, "You want to put your hair back in a ponytail?".  And Laney casually said, "Yeah".  And my Mom slowly walked to get a hairband and proceeded to put her hair up.  She kept it in until bath time.  We haven't tried it again since but baby steps right?
