Evie decorated her little bike for the 4th of July parade just like the big kids. She is flying around on her balance bike these days. She bit it pretty hard going down a big hill by the park and Patrick was worried she was down for the count, but to his surprise, even with a bloody knee, she picked up her bike and walked back up the hill and tried it again! We love the determination!
Picked up these gems at Sam's Club. And yes, Patrick and I have both battled. No, it's not on video.
Grandma and Grandpa Brang came for the 4th this year! What a special treat!
Parade time! Laney is riding up top and Evie down below. When Everson saw us all waving to her from the sidelines she lit up like a beauty queen or something.
Parade, cookout, and topped the day off with fireworks at the Gregor's house. We love the 4th of July in Ada!
Nicky was able to have some healthy visitors, so we all jumped in the car to play with our little guy who we've been missing so much! We lectured the kids on the germ-free etiquette that goes along with such a special visit, as you can see with Laney fist bumping with one hand and holding the sanitzer with the other hand.😂
After visiting with Nicky, Ollie, Aunt Sarah, and Aunt Beth, we just HAD to stop by and visit with Uncle Nader, Eliana, and Addie! It's never enough time when we visit Midland. These kids just love seeing their cousins. On our way home we stopped for dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Brang's house. It was a fun-filled day!
We are having our roads re-done and Everson is terrified of the truck sounds waking her up in the morning, but she loves sitting outside and watching from a distance with Carson. Laney, on the other hand, sleeps through it all and has no interest in watching any of it.
They are hard to see but when Evie and I were on a run last week she started yelling, "deer, deer!". I looked over and sure enough there was a Momma deer and two little fawns just hanging out watching us as we ran by.
Both Carson and Laney attended Spring Hill Camp this year. On closing day they have a special performance. Laney is up there just singing her heart away and where is Carson? Oh he's hiding behind the kid in front of him not singing at all. Oh well, he loved the camp anyways.
Laney was given the Faith award this year. Her counselors said she has a deep connection with Jesus and is ready to share his love with everyone! At closing, all the kids in her group (23 of them) and all the parents stood in a circle and the counselor asked if anyone wanted to lead the prayer. Of course, Laney volunteered, and was the only volunteer, and prayed right from her heart. She asked her group to pray for her cousin Nicky all week long too. You want to talk about Jesus? Laney is your girl!
Carson was given the Steadfastness award. No surprise there! If this kid puts his mind to something there is no one who can stop him. Believe me, his Dad and I try every day. Really though, we are so proud of both kids and love seeing their different personality traits really shining through.
Evie looked forward to drop off and pick up each day because she got all her high fives from all the counselors! She'd wake up from her nap and say, "My people are waiting to give me high fives Mommy! Let's go!".
