First Art Prize and More!

The pumpkins at Meijer Gardens are huge!  Laney jumped up to pose and asked us to get our phones out for a photo!
Carson's class!  Can you find him?  (He's all the way to the left)  This is right after his class did the Thornapple Walk-a-thon.  My parents went to walk with him :-)
Every year Roselle Park in Ada has this AMAZING festival and it's all free.  Patrick and my Dad ran the 8k race right before we showed up.  This is Laney way up high dropping the parachute she made.

Carson is creating his very own boat with wood scraps and wood glue.  Although this one didn't float like last years.
 Blowing some bubbles with Grandma!

The kids got to paint and decorate a pumpkin too :-)

Laney CHOSE the ladybug for his face paint AND she wore her ladybug outfit so she was pretty stylish!
 Rock Climbing!
Making a butterfly sun catcher with Grandpa.
And of course some horse back riding!  Carson chose to ride on the miniature pony while Laney picked out the largest horse there was...not surprising at all.

This was our first experience with Art Prize and it really was so cool.  This piece with the sunglasses was created by a friend of ours.  The lens shows photos of Detroit from the past and present.
 Pink eggs for art, what?!
This was the best part of the day.  These guys had all these bongo drums out for the kids and lead them through a jam session.  Both our kids loved it but Carson was especially excited to get to join in with the band!  There's a video.

A strange pose in front of a statue but they had just finished making those necklaces at Art Prize.

  1. Carson needs to come and jam with Chet!
Chet is OBSESSED with our congas and for his birthday next month his drum collection is expanding;-)

In the picture of Carson making his boat, he looks JUST like Patrick!

Love that fearless Laney....can't wait to see this kids at Gull Meadows:-)
